Emlyn is a dedicated loan originator here at MHML. She brings her talents to us after a varied career in real estate. In Emlyn’s decade-long career, she has taken on many central industry roles, from agent, to designer, analyst, and even flipper.
This has enabled her to gain the connections necessary to support clients, as well as a firsthand understanding of how each gear of the real estate machine works individually.

Emlyn’s Main Responsibilities at MHML
Emlyn is tenacious and dedicated in her role of connecting investors and the fix-and-flip community with the funding needed to reach their real estate goals. She works on the ground to find people whose projects can best benefit from hard money loans. Then, she collaborates with these entrepreneurs to tailor each loan to their individual needs. Emlyn takes special care to make sure our loans play a concrete role in making their aspirations a reality.
A Day in the Life of Emlyn Perry
Starting bright and early, Emily begins a typical day by connecting with clients – both current and prospective. She interviews with them to get a feel for their unique situation and circumstances. After seeing how hard money loans fit into that equation, she formulates a plan to map out their path to success.
Finally, Emlyn puts their plans in motion. She contacts and connects all parties involved to coordinate the loan application process. But she doesn’t stop there. Her dedication is such that she caps off her time with a few more phone calls to make sure everything is settled. Then, satisfied with a job well done, she finishes her day.
All in all, Emlyn focuses her time on being a frontline resource for hard money borrowers.
Favorite Part of the Job
As someone who has been on both sides of the real estate project process, she loves hearing about what her fellow entrepreneurs’ projects are like. Also, she enjoys analyzing a good deal and seeing just what she can do to make it happen. Emlyn’s varied experience allows her to put herself in her client’s shoes; helping her to imagine what she would do to each investment that comes across her desk. This valuable expertise helps Emlyn quickly evaluate deals to get the best possible loan solution for her clients.
What it’s Like Being a Loan Originator
Emlyn found that her biggest job is guiding clients to make the right choices in their projects. She remarked that her clients often have a misconception that their work will look just like it does on HGTV. So, she tries to prepare them for the hard work that comes with earning a return on investment in real life. She tries to educate them so they can make informed decisions before jumping into renovations.
Her best piece of advice for those considering this field or those already in the industry is to do due diligence. It’s critical to always stay proactive and transparent in everything you do, she said.

When you’re not in the office, what do you like to do? – “I am renovating my row home myself, currently refinishing my bedroom floors. I love to read. My New Year’s resolution is to read at least one book every month. I play softball and love park days with friends playing spike ball. I’ll often bring my cat, Mouse, along. She is a 10-year-old sassy calico who has my whole heart.”
Tell us something off your bucket list – “I want to get on the jumbotron at some professional sports game.”
If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you want to meet and why? – “RuPaul, who has done trailblazing work for the LGBTQIA+ community”
What is the best book you have ever read? – “It’s a tie for my favorite book, either The Picture of Dorian Gray or Jane Eyre. I recently read Dracula and it was epic. Of course, like a lot of millennials, I do identify heavily with Harry Potter and his pals (go Slytherin).”
Which three words to describe yourself? – “Funny, inquisitive, adventurous.”
